It's the weekend ... woo hoo !!!

The weeks are disappearing in a blur and wouldn't you know it ... it's time for another weekend challenge.

Your weekend challenge ladies ... to create a layout with 'no patterned paper' - yep, no patterned paper.

On my layout, I've used white cardstock, ink, 7mm satin ribbon, Tim Holtz filmstrip, JB journalling card, Prima packaging - black, with white spot and cut a strip using a Tim Holtz alterations die - a border die cut. I've also used BG stickers for my title.

Happy creating ladies.  Don't forget to upload to the gallery.

Enjoy your weekend.
That's it from me.

OTP Project - Weekend Challenge

Is it just me that has A LOT of OTP (Off the Page) pieces in my craft room, waiting for that perfect opportunity to be scrapped, or does everyone have them??? I have sooooo many and yet some part of me likes to keep them for that special occasion. (Secretly I think I'm too scared to do them incase I mess them up....)
But last week I actually unwrapped A Kaisercraft Clock from it's packaging and set to work on turning it into a finished piece of art. And it wasn't as hard as I thought. One and a bit pieces of pp, some rubons, a few flowers, a little bit of Glimmermist, some lace and ribbons, and a bit of stamping and voila! The finished product (minus a photo because it was going to be a prezzie but I kinda like it for me....shhh!)

Marg has heaps of wooden items in the shop just waiting for you to have lots of fun with.
I challenge you to create an OTP item and upload it to the gallery for us all to admire. It doesn't have to be as big as a clock, it could be something as simple as a card or bookmark (use up those scraps!)
Can't wait to see what you create!

It's the weekend again...

And it's my turn to set the weekend challenge.

I spent the last day of the school holidays yesterday having a girly day with my Daughter, shopping and window shopping, having lunch - a great day!
On the way home - Uncle Kracker's new Song "Smile" was on the radio - and because it is the new promo song featured on Packed to the Rafters (our fave mum and daughter show) we were singing it at the top of our lungs in the car (where we both sound really good, ' cause as you all know and understand when we are driving and singing in our cars we sound like we should all be entrants on Aus Idol... LOL)

So my challenge for you this weekend is to create a layout using the lyrics of "Smile" to create your layout.

You´re better then the best
I´m lucky just to linger in your life
Cooler then the flip side of my pillow that´s right
Completely unaware
Nothing can compare to where you send me
Lets me know that it´s ok yeah it´s ok
And the moments when my good times start to fade

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed
Sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head
Spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold
Buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile

Even when you´re gone
Somehow you come along
Just like a flower poking through the sidewalk crack and just like that
You steal away the rain and just like that

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of
bed sing like bird
Dizzy in my head spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold
buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile

Don´t know how I lived without you
Cuz everytime that I get around you
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me smile
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold
buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed
sing like bird
Dizzy in my head
spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold
buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile
Ohh you make me smile
Ohh you make me smile

Looking to seeing what you create!

and ... it's the weekend ...

woo hoo!!!!

And ... it's my turn to set the weekend challenge!

Thinking cap on ...

drum roll please ... are you ready ?

It's been a while since we have seen handmade embellishments ... so ... let's see what you can whip up this weekend as a handmade embellishment and use it on either a layout or a card.

Now that's not a difficult challenge.  Honest!

I can think of lots of ideas for handmade embellishments and straight off the top of my head - how about a flower ... a girl can never have too many flowers - truly!  Grab your punches or scissors and go for it.

So ... flowers aren't your thing ... what about using a template and cut out some stars, grab your paints, dabbers, ink pads and be creative.

I'm still seeing heaps of birdcages and birds - how about finding a pattern for a bird and make a pair of lovebirds for a special romantic layout or wedding anniversary card.

Let your imagination run wild, be creative.
Have fun.

P.S. Don't forget to upload into the gallery ... you have to be in to win ...
