Weekend Challenge

This weekend I would like you to create a layout to suit a photo that you have not yet taken... LOL

I have created this using a previous Kit - can't remember which on (thinking may have been February's)

It is waiting for a photo of our new niece who was born in January.

Mish's Weekend Challenge

Hi girls - still having a blast on holidays...

And a simple challenge for you...

I would like you to use a tv advertisement for inspiration for your layout.

I often look at the Australian Army Advert and love the blocking of their ads, and always think one day I will create a layout using this ad...

So here is your chance to create a layout using an advert from the tv and put it on paper

back to holidays .....

Halloween is Here!!!!!!!!

Well almost!
I know we don't really do Halloween in Australia, but the last couple of years my kids have wanted to, and we're all up for any excuse to dress up! Mostly, that's what it's about for them...not the trick or treating as much (though if they knock on a door and someone offers them lollies, there is NO WAY they are walking away empty handed! lol!!)
So because I have some Halloween photos to scrap, I thought you might all like to play along.
You have 2 choices for this challenge.......
A) Scrap a Halloween themed layout; or
B) Scrap a layout using Halloween colours - ie. orange, green and black - but not necessarily about Halloween.

Here is my layout meeting the criteria for A: (Halloween Theme)

And this one is B), because it is Halloween colours but definitely not Halloween Theme!
You can see I have included other colours in small amounts. Just so long as your layout is obviously orange, green and black, you can go into the monthly prize draw (no pressure.....the end of the month is hours away!!!) lol!  Can you hear me cracking my witches whip??!?!?!!? (Insert evil laugh here...)

Weekend Challenge - Comic Strip Inspired Layout

Wowsers! Can you believe it is Friday again - ALREADY!!!!

So it is time for me to set this weekend's Challenge.

My challenge to you is to create a layout using this cartoon strip as your inspiration.

Here is my layout:

DOG V MILK CRATE - created by Mish
I have used the fun Jillybean Soup "Cream of Mushroom" Papers and the 3 different coloured alphabets available with the range. Along with BG Milk Chip Alphas & Green Tara Blossoms.
Our JR is very annoying when you sit outside - something to do with my boys teaching her how to play soccer when she was a pup - so now if you go outside, you always end up with her basketball at your feet - even if you are at the back of the house, she will bring it all the way from the front to the back just to get you to kick it to her.  The only way to stop her from bring the ball to you is by sticking it under a milk crate - which then just frustrates her for hours until you take it out.  But it's the only way you get peace and quiet if you are sitting outside!

Now it is up to you to create your layout and load it into the GALLERY before MIDNIGHT SUNDAY NIGHT to be in the running for the Prize Voucher at the end of the month.

Weekend Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone,

Thought it was about my turn to give you all a challenge....so I have drawn up a sketch, sorry not as fabbo as the digi ones the other designers do...must get someone to show me how to do that.

Not going to make it that easy though...if I have to fuss then so do you...
(well I don't have to ...but cannot help myself)..lol.,

You have to play with it....using rubons, bling, punches, stamps and ....
stickers, yep, stickers. (alpha stickers don't count as having used stickers)
there are some awesome ones out there now, or you may have some in your stash...cause you also have to use something that has been in your stash for ages...can be your stickers or rubons...IYKWIM.

And I even did a page to show you that I do scrap sometimes.

This is layout about our little Jorja,
she calls Neil  - Dad-dad  instead of Grandad...
just too cute.

I have used Kraft for the back, 1 piece of October Afternoon seaside paper (both sides)
Kaiser rubons from 2 half used pkts....(from stash)
My Matha Stewart Punches - Doily lace edge punch and 3 in 1 butterfly punch.
Collection words, that I have had for a long time.
Kaiser bing, also left over bits and bobs.
The stickers are from a 12 x 12 sheet - BG Green at heart.
The flower is one of the lovely Petaloo Flora Doodles.

So there you go, have fun and don't forget to put your page into the gallery to be in the running for a voucher to spend in the shop.

Take care  -   Marg.

Weekend Challenge - Blind Scrapping Recipe!

This weekend I have a blind scrapping challenge for you.

You will need a 5 x 7 photo (portrait)
2x3 photo x 2 (portrait)
Cardstock for background
1 piece of pattened paper cut into a 10 inch circle or a circle die cut paper
1 piece of co-ordinated paper cut into a 4 inch square
1 strip 8 inches x ½ inch patterned paper
Embellishments to suit layout
Flowers, hat pin, alphabets, ribbon, and the like

Cut 1/3 off the bottom of your circle - then adhere on the cardstock approx ½ inch from the top of the page.

Take your 4 inch squared piece of paper and cut into a shaped journalling box
I use the background of a Jenni Bowlin Button to trace around for mine - you could use a chipboard bracket to make the edges of your box, or simply use a scallop punch.

Adhere this square to your circle die cut, on the left so that it just overlaps the edge of your layout.

Place your 5 x 7 photo - so that it just overlaps this shaped box. Then place your two smaller photos, so the tops of the photo overlap the bottom of the shaped box.

Now take the 8 inch strip and place across the bottom of your photos and cover where the base of the circle meets the cardstock.

Now it is time to make the layout your own - using alphas, flowers and the rest of your embellishments.

Make a cluster of flowers, and embellishments on the right hand lower corner of your photo.  Place your title along the bottom of your photos. Add any further embellishments to make this layout yours!

Here are a couple of sneak peeks of my layout - which features the June Designer Kit and will be revealed in the Newsletter

Share your layouts in the MAY CHALLENGE GALLERY by Midnight Sunday Night to be in the draw for the prize at the end of May.

WEEKEND CHALLENGE

This weekend, in celebration and remembrance of ANZAC Day, I would like you to scrap an ANZAC Day/Soldier/War type layout.

My only stipulation is that your layout is uploaded into the correct gallery by MONDAY MIDNIGHT - because its a public holiday this weekend and so you have the opportunity to use photos taken on Sunday at the ANZAC Day Services.

Here is my layout created today of my DD at her ANZAC Day Assembly on Wednesday.

Using the gorgeous SARAH JANE papers from BELLA BELLA

The journalling is a paragraph that she wrote to present at the assmebly.

Weekend Challenge...

This weekend I challenge you to create a layout using a BLOG SKETCH created by the fabulous Tassie Deb - we are all saddened at the thought of her leaving the Design Team - so I thought as a last HURRAH we would flood the gallery with her sketches.

Click on the Link - Designer Sketches over on the right - and scroll through until you find a sketch you like.  You must then created a sport themed layout using this sketch.  It doesn't necessarily have to be playing sport, but can be some sort of sport based - ie fishing is a sport...

Don't forget to load your layouts into the gallery by Sunday Midnight to be in the draw to win a voucher at the end of April.

Here is my example - using TD's Sketch number 10

using Kaiser's Loire Valley papers and elements and BG Chip alphas.

Let's Reuse, Reduce and Recycle - Weekend Challenge

This week it is Lee's turn to post the weekend challenge.  But as she is busy getting ready I am posting it for her.

So quoting Lee:

I'd like to see some recycling! Use at least four different types of recycled items on your creation - ie if you just use one piece of cardboard and make four new things out of it, it will only count as one item type recycled. So you need to dive into all different manner of things to use! Look for recyclable products like paper or fabric or plastic or cardboard or "notion" style (ie ribbon, button etc) or metal (the foil from milo tins etc) - the possibilites are endless! Tell us what each item was originally and how you have used it in your creation!

Don't forget to post your layout in the gallery or link back to this post from your blog to show us you stuff. You could be the winner of the monthly prize draw for those who complete the Challenges.

10, 9, 8, 7....

It's time for the weekend challenge again.
This time it's Marg's turn to post - but as she has no computer or internet since a big electrical storm went through at the beginning of the week - I am posting her challenge for you.

Marg would like you to create a "countdown" layout!

WHAT?

Create a layout using
10 of one item - eg blossoms
9 of the next item - eg brads
8 of the next item - eg patterned paper
and so on and so forth..

D0n't forget to share or link back to be in the running for the monthly prize draw!

Weekend Challenge

Hi Guys,

It's my turn to set the weekend challenge this week...

So my challenge to you is:

That you scrap 1 photo 2 ways.

So what this means is that you take the same photo

and scrap it two different ways.

IE: Different products
Focus on Different parts in the photo

My Examples are:
In this first layout I have focused on how alike - yet different my boys are.

The second layout focus on them growing up so fast. I managed to snap this photo whilst they were sitting on the jetty in the Marina on holidays so I have used the lyrics from Sitting on the Dock .

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Don't forget to post in the gallery or link back to this post with your layouts.

Weekend challenges

Here it is ... your weekend challenge this weekend.

How about you put together a 12x12 layout - okay so far ... I'm sure it is.

BUT ... I want you to only use ONE piece of cardstock and ONE piece of patterned paper – any embellishments that you decide to use must be handmade from that one piece of cardstock and / or that one piece of patterned paper AND you must use more than one photo.

How's that ... nice and easy ... nothing difficult about it!

You may use paints, stamps, inks, glimmermists, punches, sewing [machine or handsewing – you can use embroidery thread for this challenge - I'm being nice] ... but no pre-made or bought embellishments for example., no lace, ribbons, bling etc.

Any questions ???

Here's my example layout.

Your layout should be uploaded into the gallery before midnight WA time on Sunday night. Or Link your layout in the comments section of this post!

Have fun creating.
