Embellishment Class No 1 - Felt Flowers

Last night we did an embellishment class, I thought I would share with you the projects we made.

This is the first one.

Felt flowers.

You will need –

 Felt

 Brads

 Needle and cotton

 Liquid chalks and slick writer

 Blank paper to make a template and pencil

 Scissors

 Hot glue gun

 Leave stamps and stazon ink
Now take your pencil and paper and make a template. the purple flower has 7 petals about 1.5" high and the white flowers have 5 petals, one 2" high and the other 1" high.
cut out your template and when you are happy with the shapes cut your felt.

Now take your slick writer are draw stitcher around the purple petals, then take your liquid chalks are shade around the petals of the white...I did yellow along the bottom and around the petals then went over the bottom with an orange. Doesn't show up very well with this pic, sorry.

Ok onto the sewing...well not really sewing.....well ok, sewing but not that much...lol..
Take your needle and do a running stitch along the bottom of the cut outs. Then pull this as tight as you can securing on the back with a few stitches...which actually stitch up to about as far as the petals come down to...IYKWIM. Do this on all of the flowers.

Add some brads to them and more chalk around the edges if you want....now all that is left to do is add some leaves. I stamped some leaves with Stazon onto the green felt, cut them out and hot glued them onto the flowers.

Thanks for taking the time to check out our blog, please share with us, in the gallery, if you get to make any.
Please also leave a comment if you have any questions, would love to hear from you.
Will post another step by step on the other things we made in the embellishment class soon.
Until next time, take care, Marg.

Weekend Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone,

Thought it was about my turn to give you all a challenge....so I have drawn up a sketch, sorry not as fabbo as the digi ones the other designers do...must get someone to show me how to do that.

Not going to make it that easy though...if I have to fuss then so do you...
(well I don't have to ...but cannot help myself)..lol.,

You have to play with it....using rubons, bling, punches, stamps and ....
stickers, yep, stickers. (alpha stickers don't count as having used stickers)
there are some awesome ones out there now, or you may have some in your stash...cause you also have to use something that has been in your stash for ages...can be your stickers or rubons...IYKWIM.

And I even did a page to show you that I do scrap sometimes.

This is layout about our little Jorja,
she calls Neil  - Dad-dad  instead of Grandad...
just too cute.

I have used Kraft for the back, 1 piece of October Afternoon seaside paper (both sides)
Kaiser rubons from 2 half used pkts....(from stash)
My Matha Stewart Punches - Doily lace edge punch and 3 in 1 butterfly punch.
Collection words, that I have had for a long time.
Kaiser bing, also left over bits and bobs.
The stickers are from a 12 x 12 sheet - BG Green at heart.
The flower is one of the lovely Petaloo Flora Doodles.

So there you go, have fun and don't forget to put your page into the gallery to be in the running for a voucher to spend in the shop.

Take care  -   Marg.

Your challenge this weekend

... I'm thinking that you might just need a wee challenge this weekend ...

We've had a cold snap hit us this side of the ditch and I truly mean a real cold snap.  It's cold and miserable, we've got wind and rain, we've had snow flurries today, I kid you not, and an amazing hail shower has just passed us by.  In other's words, it's not nice outside.

I'm over it already and I so want it to be warm again!!!  And I'm honest!  Bring on Summer I say!

So my challenge for you this weekend is to be creative and think warm - whether that be using warm colours or scrapping Summery photos.  Show me something that will make me at least feel a little warmer.

Don't forget to upload your creativity in the gallery.

Have fun and happy creating.
Bye

Weekend Challenge

Well, its my turn to post a weekend challenge - sorry I don't have time to scrap - cause I am busy renovating my house! Wowsers it has only taken like 10 years of whining to get a new kitchen... LOL

Anyways your challenge this weekend is to scrap a layout about something NEW!!!

Have fun!

Now back to stripping wallpaper!

Weekend Challenge!

Another weekend......another challenge!!!!!!
Of course it's Father's Day weekend so thought a Father's Day Challenge would be appropriate.

We'd love to see some Father's Day Cards or layouts, using the sketch below. But to make it a little trickier...how about using "non-traditional" Father's Day colours. You know the typical brown, navy, grey....let's brighten it up a bit. Think red, yellow, white and more. Of course you can include some blues and browns, just don't make them a feature.

Here's the sketch....and I'll be back a little later with an example for you. (Hopefully before the weekend is over!) ***** - EDITED: I'm back and even I can't believe how fast I got it done!

Here's a lo...obviously not my dad (lol!), but he's the kids dad so close enough!!

And a card using the scraps from the lo!

Hope you all play along........don't forget the prizes at the end of the month if you get these challenges finished. And there's plenty of newsletter challenges too so plenty of opportunities to win.  I know that's not everyone's reason for scrapping but we all shop anyway, so wouldn't a little voucher from the shop help a bit??!!
Upload your entries to the gallery here.
