Thursday Inspiration

Today, I have a photo image to inspire you.  I was sitting at the beach in Sydney and looked up and saw this in the sky.
Now you can use the word, the colour scheme, the brightness,  the fluffiness, something deep and meaningful to you or someone else.......it's up to you to interpret the image any which way you see fit.
I'll be working on a sample a bit later to share

Hope you find time to play along.....it's awfully quiet in the Gallery  (Partly my fault I know!)

Happy Scrapping

Thursday Challenge

Hi there everyone,

Bit on the cold side here today, so I would like you to do a layout using warm colours...you know browns, oranges, olive greens and warm colours.

Also 2 photos, flowers, ribbon, eyelets and buttons.

Have fun.

We have a Retreat here at Country Papercraft this weekend, so might throw this challenge to the ladies here as well.

Have a wonderful weekend, keep warm.

Carnation Creations - Friday Tutorial

 Carnation Creation

Today, I am going to teach you how to make these gorgeous  handmade flowers.

These are made using the Spellbinders Carnation Creation Die,
but you could use any flower punch or die cut.

You need a 6x12 piece of cardstock and a 6x12 piece of doublesided patterned paper that co-ordinates with your cardstock.
You need to cut 4-5 of each shape for a fuller carnation.
Layer them in size order and secure with a brad.

Spray water on the top layer of papers

Then scrunch those papers upwards

Squirt some more, scrunch some more….

Continue until the whole flower is scrunched.   Play a little with the “petals” until you’re happy with how it looks    .

Set aside to dry.

Once it’s dry, spray some glimmermist to give it a little sparkle, and then  attach it to your card, layout or project.
The beauty of these (apart from being super easy and super cute…), is that you can make them co-ordinate with your page/project  perfectly!
Have fun…can’t wait to see your combinations.

weekend challenge

Hi there,

Seeing as our baby has just had her first birthday a couple of weeks ago, I thought maybe we could do a card or layout for a baby.

I would like you to use, ribbon, flowers, buttons, cutouts.

This is a card I have done for a class for 2 weeks away.

Sorry about the wonky pic. and it is not quite as bright as the colours are showing.

Have used spellbinders to cut out the rectangles and a cuttlebug die to do the baby and pin. - a tip: when cutting out small things like the pic and word, put some wide double sided tape on the back of the paper before you cut it out....that way it is already to stick.

Have fun and a wonderful weekend.

Marg.
Hi everyone, my turn for a challenge again.

My challenge for you is to take a LO from the gallery and add it to your own layout.
(please be aware that you need to have permission from the original scrapper to do this, sure they will be thrilled that you want to use their page...just double check before though.)
I chose one from my cousin and made a layour from that pic of her layout.
Dee hope you like what i have done.xxx
Cheers,barbie.

Friday Challenge

Hi all. It's been a while since I've played along with the challenges and now I've had surgery on my scrapping arm it's going to be even longer! :(
But don't let that stop you. Since it's a long weekend I'm going to challenge you to complete a project that you've been wanting to complete for a while. It can be an unfinished page, an Off The Page Project or a technique you've been waiting to try.
Sorry I can't whip up an example (it's taken me long enough to type this left handed!), but can't wait to see what you create!
Happy scrapping..
