one more bit of temptation

Thursday's Challenge - a sketch

Hi Guys,

Well I had great intentions of creating a layout to go along with my sketch - the photos are printed, but somehow the mojo just wouldn't flow - then the hungry hoards decided that I needed to go shopping and fill my pantry with food - cause there is absolutely "NOTHING" to eat - I am sure my shelves were pretty well stocked, but obviously not with the right stuff! LOL

So hopefully today I can create... but until then - here is your sketch.  Interpret it anyway you like - change things to suit yourself, but most of all have fun with it...

So I have whipped up a layout now...

Using Basic Grey Black Tie & Mellow, including alphas - and Fundamentals alpha stickers

Look forward to seeing your layouts in the gallery...

and a little more...

Tuesdays Challenge

Ok I know it's Wednesday...but where did Tuesday go?? Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.

My challenge to you all is to do a layout or double layout with.

5 things from your stash (please state what was in your stash, always interesting to see what people have)
4 photos
4 patterned paper
3 words in the title
3 handmade embellishments
2 cardstock
2 journalling boxes

Ok have fun, if I get some time today I will do a page and add it later.

Marg.
PS...still waiting for our new bub....I know she is not due for another 2 weeks but you never know.

Ohhhh a sneak peek....

Of the stunning May D'luxe Designer Kit...

Friday, 22 April 2011

Your challenge this weekend ...

and it's a long weekend girls, so you will have plenty of time to be creative ... well I hope that you will.

My challenge for you all - to create a layout with the following :

1 photo

2 different alphas

3 different pearls - I've used teal, cream and those gorgeous new strands of pearls that Marg has recently uploaded into the shop

4 different shapes - I've used squares, rectangles, a heart and whatever shape you call my background paper

5 different flowers - well at least five ... and I've actually emptied some of those really old half opened packets that I have had lying around - must be time to replace them - lol ...

Now on top of all that ... I want to see different textures - I've used felt, netting from an old floral bouquet, hessian, feathers and pearls ...

It's time to rummage around in your stash girls and dig out some of your treasures.

Here's my example.

And yep, I know that you have seen this photo before and just recently ... but this one I've decided is going in a frame in my scrap room - just cos.

I had a wee giggle to myself though ... I had this layout sitting on the bench in the kitchen waiting for me to take a photo and I went past it and noticed something sitting on it ... DH had seen it and left two wee pieces of hessian string sitting under the title ... like a cross [as a kiss] and he had picked up one of my wee heart trinkets and popped it beside the word 'love' ... isn't he a wee darling.

So there you have it ... have fun creating and don't forget to upload into the gallery.

Here is Barbie's take on my challenge.

If you are travelling anywhere this long weekend, safe travels my friends.

Blast from the Past!

Here's a layout I just HAD to do for this week's challenge!
Yesterday my eldest boy came home, so proud of the little box he had made in woodwork this term. The look on his face when I pulled out my own little box from year 8 was Priceless! He and his friends couldn't believe A) They did cool stuff like that "way back then" and B) A GIRL did it (and did it well, might I say!) My box even had some of my Year 8 drawings in it and I can tell you the boys were suitable impressed with my drawing (copying! shh.....) skills too!

So here's the lo:

And your challenge is to scrap:
A) something from your childhood;
B) something which is the same as when you were a child; or
C) a comparison type layout comparing something old and something new. (Wish I had photographed the ancient scooter one of the kids had at the skate Park this week...!??) Those of you that didn't get to complete Mish's challenge the other day may already have a head start on this one.....

I have used last months kit since I didn't get to work with that in time for the last newsletter. There are sooo many papers in that kit, I wasn't sure where to start! And the best part is if they are "pretty" and floral on one side, the other is plain!

Happy Scrapping! Can't wait to see where you go with this one...!

Thursday Challenge

Hi all,

My turn again for a challenge.

As we only have about 3 weeks to go until our new bub arrives,
I thought why not challenge everyone to do a layout with a title -
 "Now we wait"
It could be waiting for a result of something, a friend coming for a visit or you going for a trip...etc.

I have a couple of photos that I am going to use on a page so as soon as I do it I will post it on here.

Have fun.
Marg.

Friday, 8 April 2011

It's the weekend ... woo hoo !!!

and it's time for your weekend challenge.

Ladies, a two part challenge for you this weekend.

Your first part of the challenge is to make am embellishment cluster that you could use on either a card, a canvas, or a layout.

I've ripped apart the lid of a box which had corrugated cardboard in it ... many of you could grab a pizza box and rip it apart - just saying ... lol ...

I've used Tim Holtz distress crackle paint, a quote, a tag, some recycled netting from a bouquet of flowers, my Martha Stewart punch, a few baubles, a feather and some Kaiser flowers, which I have scrunched and layered to make my wee flowers.

So there you have it ... my embellishment cluster that I could have actually adhered to the front of a card ... but I chose to use mine on a layout.

So ... that's the second part of the challenge; I would like to see how you have used your creativity.

I will take photos of my layout tomorrow and post on line and in the gallery.

It's pitch black this side of the ditch and taking photos at this hour of the night, well it's not the best really.

Remember, there are two parts to the challenge and you will need photos of both parts to complete the challenge.

Happy creating ladies.

Going Green....

Hi again!
Since yesterday was Green for Premmies Day  I thought a colour challenge was in order!
So today's challenge is to work with the colour GREEN.
Here's my example:
I've used:
Echo Park, October Afternoon papers;
Pink Paislee Tape and paper strip;
Ruby Rocket ATC and Die Cuts;
Butterfly Punch
Kaiser Stamp;
Ink, Glimmermist (Meadow Green); Pen;
Pink Paislee, Basic Grey and Adorn-it Letter Stickers
Purple Pumpkin Button

Obviously other colours are allowed, I just used green as my base for ideas and added a few complimentary colours from there. (I had to reall...I couldn't go past that Echo park Paper...YUM!)

Have fun creating...see you in the Gallery soon

Tuesdays Challenge

Well here goes, my first challenge to you all as a Design Member for CPC.
I would like you to create a layout, after shopping and spending less than $10.00.
On my example if I didn’t have to buy the black gel pen, my layout would have come in at about $5.00.

I have only used 1 piece of cardstock, some shortcuts (the film strip) and I have framed the photo and made the flower out of cardboard.
Have fun and don’t forget to share in the gallery for a chance to win a voucher to spend at CPC.
Cheers,
Barbie x

Weekend Challenge

This weekend I would like you to create a layout to suit a photo that you have not yet taken... LOL

I have created this using a previous Kit - can't remember which on (thinking may have been February's)

It is waiting for a photo of our new niece who was born in January.

March D'Luxe Designer Kit Page - *Busselton*

Here is another page I have made with the March "A rose by any other name" D'Luxe Designer kit .

All supplies are from the kit. These are some pics taken on our WA trip back in 2009.

Thanks for looking!
