Are you excited or scared??? Hopefully you're more organised than me!
I thought in the spirit of "only 2 more sleeps"....this week's Thursday Challenge should be to create a layout using 2 of everything! Think 2 photos, 2 papers, 2 circles, 2 flowers, etc
Here's my example:

Tuesday Challenge
Hi everyone!
A fab thing about this time of year, is how inspired you can be by all the fabulous Christmas designs and colours out there.
One of my favourite colour combinations is Red & Aqua, and I think it translates so well to Christmas time, I have seen some amazing festive decor created using this colour combo.
On this christmas present shipping tag, I have used some Heidi Swapp star paper tape, Kaiser aqua rhinestones, Basic Grey "Curio" mini monogram stickers, and a little punch of the reindeer from some Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses patterned paper.
So your challenge today is to use two colours on your creation. To make it a bit easier, I am going to let you also add in black, white or cream, so you may use those as an extra colour if you wish.
Can't wait to see what you make!!
Happy Christmas!
Lee :)

Ribbon Roses - Step by Step
Materials and tools –
Ribbon
Hot glue gun
Piece of laminate or something similar
Stapler
Scissors
Tweezers
Something to poke with.
I also used some pearls on the one I made for a demo.
1. Cut a length of ribbon – think mine was about 25cm, staple the ends to the piece of laminate.
Sometimes there will be a little bit sticking out from under the rose...not sure why, so I just cut it off...lol...oops!
See the little bit sticking out?? Chop it!! will sit flatter when you do.
Now put some hot glue on your ribbon you have stapled to the laminate. Then press the rose into it.
With the tail that hasn't been folded, twist it and stick down with some more glue. Holding it there with something until it dries. (I used my poker thingy) when it is dry you can trim it off and put the next lot of glue right on top of it for the next rose.
When you get to the last rose, stick as per the others then twist the rest of it and take right around the rose and stick under the front...see pic, that might show what I'm saying...well it might!!..lol...see where the poker is...well that is where you will stick it. Oh dear that didn't sound good...lol..you know what I mean.
Now you are ready to peel it off the laminate and trim off any excess glue, you cannot help with glue guns, well I cannot anyway, getting webs of glue.
I also now added a pearl in the middle of the roses. thought it added just that little extra. You could put your roses closer together if you wanted....they cost about $2.00 to make, if that.
Ok now this was not the easiest class to take pics of as I had to hold the ribbon…hope you are able to work it out by my instructions, if not please leave a comment and I will get back to you.
Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas,
Marg.

1. Cut a length of ribbon – think mine was about 25cm, staple the ends to the piece of laminate.
2. Cut more ribbon into about 20cm lengths…will be different for wider or narrower ribbon..you will just have to play around to see what fits best. Normally I have needed about 6 bits to fill the first strip.
3. Roll one end of the ribbon tightly about 3 or 4 times, then fold ribbon over itself and then keep rolling until you have gone past the fold. Check the diagram I drew for you…was just too hard to take pics of this. Fold again and continue like this until there is only about 1 ½ “ of ribbon left.

Christmas tags
Christmas is knocking on our doors and I'm sure that I'm not the only one frantically wrapping and labelling gifts.
This year I have made quite a few homemade tags, some really quite simple and some of them I have made just a little more special than others.
This particular tag has been made using Bella papers, from the Sarah Jane range and Marg has them in the shop ... I've also used Designs Galore paper and cut out one of the Santa's - check out the different papers in this range in the shop as well.
I've distressed the edges a little and used crackle paint on the bottom of the paper and let it dry naturally and it has curled the edges a little - love the way it has done that.
I've inked the edges of my papers using a combination of Victorian Velvet, Antique Linen and Tea Dye distress inks.
I've popped a small piece of gauze between the top paper and the second layer of my tag, added a little crackle paint and diamond dust, added a tag, feather, pearls and seam binding ...
Love the way this tag turned out and can only hope that the recipient appreciates her special tag.
So ... how about making yourself a couple of special gift tags and sharing them with us in the gallery.
Happy creating.

WEEKEND CHALLENGE - 10 DEC - *Nature*
Hi Everyone,
Seeing as Mother Nature is giving the area I live a bit of a pounding at the moment with locusts, rain and floods, this Weekend Challenge is to create a page incorporating photos of Nature.
Here is my page - showing the vast difference in the creek on our farm from April 2007 to October 2010 - the poem I Love A Sunburnt Country is so right - we are the country of Droughts and Flooding Rains.
My page includes Bazzil Kraft cardstock, Scenic Route "Cape Town - Oswald Road" paper, the new Basic Grey "Curio" cardstock stickers (circle label and scalloped border), Pink Paislee grey & white paper tape, Jenni Bowlin chipboard button, and Cosmo Cricket grey "Ready Set Chip" School House alphas (Creek), Collage Press "Knave of Hearts" alphas (The) and 7 Gyspies label stickers.
Thanks for looking, and don't forget to upload your page to the Weekend Challenges gallery HERE to be in with a chance to win the monthly voucher draw.
Have a great weekend!
Lee

Ribbons, Lace, Felt, Fibres, Ric Rac.......
These are all the things you can pick up cheap in the Store today!
I thought I'd give you some ideas to use up the stash you already have (so you can go shopping for more!!), or to use up some of the yummy goodies you can buy if you haven't got enough!
Fold it, stitch it, place it, loop it, make it into flowers, tie it in knots......the possibilites are endless!
Not just for girlie pages either!
I have a huge stash of ribbons, fibres and felt, but I rarely complete a page without adding some sort of "haberdashery". That's why I can never go past looking (and buying!) more all the time as well!
Here's some pages I've done recently using a mixture of ribbons, felt, fibres, ric rac and lace. I'd love to see some of your ideas as well. I'll be in the shop checking out the specials while you whip up some examples for me! Don't forget to share in the gallery before the end of the month to go in the prize draw!
Happy Creating....

Fabric Rose
Hi all,
I was putting together a Step by Step for this ribbon rose that I will be sharing with you on the 16th Dec.
Don't forget to check back for the instructions.
Now what was I saying?? oh yeah, while I had the hot glue gun out I thought I would make some Calico roses as well. I had some scraps of fabric left over from a project on the weekend.
Here is what I did.
First draw a spiral circle, ( the piece of fabric would have been about 3" square) try to keep the gaps even, this is harder than you think, you automatically start small and go bigger...well resist the temptation to do this and keep them all the same.
Then cut it out, don't stay on the line, make a wave as you cut.
Now take the end and wind it around something, I used a pencil, if it was paper I would use a quilling tool.
When you have finished sit it on the little round bit that is in the middle of the circle and play with it until you have it looking as you want. - you might want to tighten the centre or loosen it a bit.
When you are happy with it stick it to the round bit with some hot glue. Now all you have to do it spray it with some glimmermist to make it what ever colour you need.

Weekend Challenge
Hi all, my turn for the Weekend Challenge.
Today I would like you to bring out your tools, blow off the dust and create something awesome...like a layout or card. You know what I am talking about - your stamps, punches, cuttlebug, cricut etc.
My example is one of the cards we made in our class today.
I have used MS punches - New Deep Edge Around the Page Punch set and 3 Butterfly punches.
Also used my Cuttlebug with Spellbinder labels Nestabilities.
The stamp is from a Dark Room Door Set.
Please join in the Challenge and upload into the Gallery for a chance to win a voucher.
Have a wonderful weekend and don't miss out on picking up some great savings while the 12 days of Christmas Sale is on.
Take care.
Marg.

To complete a layout ... oops, that should be a multi photo layout. That's right I want to see more than one photo, in fact three photos would be good and in some of those photos I want to see water. If you want to scrap a layout with more than three photos - I say, go for it.
Let's add a few more ingredients shall we ...
A little ink
A little glimmermist or paint
A little distressing
A little layering
and some tags ...
There you have it ... I'm sure that this won't be difficult.
I will leave you to mix the ingredients.
Look forward to seeing what you cook up.
And before I go ... here's what I did.
Happy creating.
